Hi! I'm Alessa, one of Baramoeda's team members. I want to share my story with you guys about my journey about food. Oh yes, I LOVE FOOD. Food is my comfort zone where I usually indulge my self with all different kinds of delicacy. Back then I was a very picky eater (even sometimes until now). But now, I mostly eat and try lots of things, including meat. Hmm, yes that delicious juicy appetizing slice of meat or chicken or fish is very very tempting. But, about 5 years ago I came across a documentary, which tells us the origin of our food (specifically meat). And wow. I was more than shocked, terrified, and speechless to know what can humans do to these animals just for us to fill our tummy.
Changing the world may sound far fetch or saving the environment may sound like too much work, but choosing your next meal, now hey that is something I can do! But how can we do something great with just a single plate of meal? Well, here's a little fun fact.

The amount of grains, water, land, and fuel needed to make your next hamburger is equal to those numbers on the picture.

And that's a lot. Imagine if all those grains and water instead of being used to make a single hamburger is used as the primary source for our dietary plan. Now that's making a difference.
Now don't be sad, because knowing this, it means we actually have a chance to start doing something very simple and easy. Which is what I started doing now, going meatless for a day and choose to do #MeatlessMonday ! An you know what, its not that hard, especially being Indonesian. Every Monday, instead of having meat I choose to have gado-gado, pecel,
So, if you think that you can't do anything for the world, well at least you can change one meal of your day and opt for better options :)
